Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe: 12th & Franklin – Astoria, Oregon

August 5th, 2010 by Emir

Perhaps one of America’s most easily recognizable automotive shapes, the Bel Air is about as patriotic as hot dogs, baseball and cheating on your income taxes. This well-maintained ‘56 coupe sports a tasty cinnamon and cream two-tone paint job and looks fantastic pictured here on Franklin Street in Astoria. Chevy made a pillarless 4-door sport sedan version of the Bel Air during the same model year, but I think the coupe is where it’s at. By the way, someone really needs to bring back hood ornaments as a colorful alternative to the recessed, less is more badges placed on hoods today. This one looks like a soaring eagle that mated with a jet airplane…awesome.

Chevy Styleline Deluxe Sport Coupe – Forest Grove, Oregon

July 27th, 2010 by Emir

I spotted this great looking 51 Chevy parked outside the Forest Grove Concour d’Elegeance last weekend. Its brilliant blue paint, elegant use of chrome, and smooth curves had me stopped like a dear caught in the headlights. And what an interior. I hope to look this sporty when I’m 60 years old. In case any of my rant now has you lusting for one of these, this baby happens to be for sale and can be in your driveway for the low low price of $15K. Any interested parties can email

*note: price does not include Man on the Move broker fee of 6%

Darth Vader’s Chevy SSR – Kent Street, Williamsburg

May 26th, 2010 by Stu

The dark side is strong with this one. Black paint, matte black fenders, black wheels, black lamp lenses, black grille. Hell, even the Chevy symbol on the tailgate is blacked out. I might be jumping to conclusions here, but the owner is probably not the warm and cuddly type.

Nice spot Aaron!

1957 Chevy Model 3100 Pickup – W37th St & 5th Ave, NYC

March 18th, 2010 by Stu

There are a few Man on the Move rides that we have spotted more than once while walking the Isle of Manhattan. But this 1957 Chevy Model 3100 Pickup is positively everywhere. Uptown, downtown, east side, west side – I can’t seem to avoid the beautiful two-tone classic. Talk about an awesome daily driver, it’s great to see the owner gives this baby so much exercise.

Chevy Chevelle SS – State St, Santa Barbara

March 12th, 2010 by Nick

So Sick. Super Sexy. Sensationally Stylish. Simply Smashing. Sensually Seductive. Sinfully Smooth. Assign what words you will, the SS is worn like a badge of honor on all worthy bowties, and worn with pride. This drop-top Chevelle was sitting pretty in a bank parking lot when I ran across the street to capture its powerful, nonchalant stance. Like the silent man with a double black-belt, leaning calmly against the bar — he doesn’t need to talk about the fact that he can kill you twelve different ways with his hands — but he can. Of course, when your muscle car comes with its own guard dog, who cares what color the belt is.

Chevy Camaro Z28 Type LT – Holt Ave, Los Angeles

January 5th, 2010 by Nick

CAMARO Z28 TYPE LT - HOLT AVE, LAThe dented rear fender from prom night ’77. The cigarette burn from a drunken night at the disco on new years ’80. The scratch down the passenger door from shopping kart bowling on a warm night in ’83. The stories these survivors tell through their scars and battle wounds get silenced during a restoration, and the soft whispers of debauchery fall on deaf ears under a glossy coat of candy.

Chevy Traverse – Interstate 26 South, Asheville

Chevy Traverse - North Carolina

What did I get for xmas 2009? A few Xbox games, a new lens for my camera and, oh yeah, a massive blizzard that dropped 26 inches on us just before we needed to get into the car for the annual Virginia to North Carolina family holiday trip. The Prius wasn’t exactly cutting the mustard so we rented this fully loaded Chevy Traverse instead.

2010 Chevy Camaro – Harriman State Park, NY

April 20th, 2009 by Stu

It’s been 4 years since Chevy pulled the wraps off the Camaro concept at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. A new president is in office, the Yankees moved stadiums and Britney Spears seems to be popular again. But it might have been worth the wait thanks in no small part to a design that alludes to the past without using it as a crutch. The 304 HP, Direct Injection V6 and starting price under $23,000 doesn’t hurt either.
