Audi R8 – East 37th St. @ 3rd Ave, NYC

July 13th, 2010 by Stu

Look closely and examine the interaction between the Ibis white Audi R8 and Chrysler 300 limousine pictured here, just where the mid town tunnels spills out into Manhattan. The best part is the dude in the limo, smiling for the camera as he passes off the bottle of bub to the people in the R8. Apparently bridge and tunnel people like to party.

Mystery Ride – 17th & US1, Ft. Lauderdale

March 30th, 2010 by Stu

Our pal Eric nearly collided with a telephone pole trying to capture this exotic drop top on US1 in Ft Lauderdale. The owner wasn’t a big fan of the automotive paparazzi but Eric managed to fire off this shot of the car’s well-sculpted rear end. We know the make and model – do you? Weigh in below with your guesses. As always, there is a free Man on the Move t-shirt for the winner.

Lost Cause – Lincoln Blvd, Venice CA

March 25th, 2010 by Mike

So my girlfriend sees this rust bucket Porsche in a gravel parking lot on her way down Lincoln one day. She tells me about it, and instantly I’m imagining a long hood version of our buddy Mike Burroughs’ mean, rusty E28. I call Jim Bauer and, within milliseconds, he’s ready to make an offer. He’s got visions of a non-operating early body (69-73) to restore, or at least scrap body panels from. Both of our dreams were smashed upon arrival at the gravel lot. No motor, hence the SUV ride height. The interior looks like a mini garbage dump. And there’s just enough body damage and terminal rust on each panel to make it not worth the effort. But somehow, especially sitting in between a Jeep Cherokee and Honda Fit, this Porsche is still a gorgeous sight.

Nissan GT-R – Second Avenue, NYC

March 19th, 2010 by Stu

This super stealthy Nissan GT-R is what they call triple black – black paint, black wheels, black interior. Mix all that in with the night sky and you have a recipe for bad ass.

Lamborghini Gallardo – Town of Bad Staffelstein, Bavaria

March 17th, 2010 by Stu

German tuning house CDC International is serious about adding flair to already wild exotics like the Audi R8, Bentley Continental GT and Lamborghini Gallardo. Wheels, body kits, high performance exhausts, engine upgrades…they do it all. Their latest and greatest product draws inspiration from Lamborghini’s Reventón, the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show stunner that featured a fighter jet-inspired carbon fiber body atop a “base” Murcielago LP640. The production run was limited to just 20 examples costing a cool $1.5mm each and the batch sold out before show models could even unveil the damn thing. For those of you who were too poor or too slow to grab one, CDC has designed this Reventon-look body kit (front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts, and diffuser) for the Murcielago’s baby bro, the Gallardo. They appropriately refer to it as “a little Reventón”. Interested? The package will run you a cool $25K. Nothing little about that. CDC was good enough to photograph the final product for us, seen here posed against a randomly colorful recycling depot in the Town of Bad Staffelstein.

Thanks Mike!

Muscle Car Trifecta – Harriman State Park, New York

March 6th, 2010 by Stu

I was going through my files and stumbled onto these amazing pictures taken during a muscle car comparo I wrote for the Summer 2009 issue of Men’s Fitness. The photo editor decided against using these images, instead opting for stock photography to accompany the review. He fed me some line about the gloomy weather not being sunny enough. Does anyone know what he was thinking? We all know that wet muscle cars look better than dry muscle cars any day of the week. They have more attitude. And the grey skies add a menacing effect to the trio’s already aggressive styling. I hope you enjoy them.

Supercar Weekend – Flagler Drive Waterfront, Palm Beach

March 3rd, 2010 by Stu

Flagler Drive Waterfront was packed with precious metal last weekend for Supercar Experience Palm Beach, also known as Supercar Weekend. The event series, which also includes tour stops in other well-to-do locations like New Orleans and The Hamptons, is a unique experience to say the least. After all, where on earth can you see this much horsepower, hand crafted coachwork and radar-touting cops in one place at one time. You can thank Florida-based sharp shooter and Man on the Move guest photographer Blake Simon for the exotic car porn to ensue after the jump.

Nissan Skyline GT-R – Houston Street, NYC

February 25th, 2010 by Stu

Man on the Move reader, NYC local and pro snapper Tom Olesnevich spotted this rare-to-the-U.S. R33 Skyline GT-R on Houston between Ludlow and Orchard. The Skyline GT-R, also known as Godzilla, is among the most iconic sports cars to ever come out of the Land of the Rising Sun. Mainly because it offered up Ferrari levels of performance for a lot less coin. Seeing one on these shores is not exactly an everyday occurrence considering they were never sold here. You’re actually looking at one of a handful of grey market examples that was imported and adapted for use in the U.S. It’s quite the scandal in case you’re interested in reading up on the controversy surrounding their importation.

Thanks Tom!

Porsche 959 – Hopkins Ave, Aspen (CO)

February 23rd, 2010 by Stu

One of our loyal readers spotted this 197 MPH supercar from Stuttgart rolling down the 300 Block of Hopkins Ave in downtown Aspen. A fitting venue for such a rare, valuable piece of equipment, the 959 (1987-1989) remains one of the rarest, most advanced, ferociously fast supercars ever made. Its performance credentials, like a 3.7 second dash to 60 mph, remain disgustingly impressive to this day. This one looks to be pretty legit from where we sit, but please weigh in with replica car theories below.

Great find Jim!

Audi R8 – West 17th Street, NYC

February 18th, 2010 by Stu

One of our loyal readers spotted this Ibis White Audi R8 on West 17th and felt compelled to share. A testament to Walter da Silva’s arresting design, this mid engine super coupe still manages to look amazing even while positioned next to Manhattan’s curb side jewels.

Thanks Scott!
