This vintage Trans Am spotted on East 37th is utterly fabulous in a Joe Dirt meets Tawny Kitaen sort of way. The t-top, gold paint and massive firebird arching its wings on the hood are priceless.

And you thought Lieutenant Bullitt was the only bad ass who could pull off a green muscle car. Well this Firebird is more of an emerald than dark Highland Green but let’s not split hairs. It seems New Yorkers have an affinity for Firebirds painted in bold colors.

Pontiac Firebird Convertible – Washington Street, NYC

This gen 1 Firebird convertible looks good in plum crazy purple. Damn good actually. The car appears to be original, most evident by the rusted out front fascia, but the form-fitting top seems to have been replaced within the last few years. Unfortunately we won’t be seeing any reincarnations of this Chevrolet Camaro platform mate, which debuted in 1967 alongside its GM sister vehicle.
