Mystery Supercar: 49th Street & Sixth Avenue

April 16th, 2012 by Stu

Supercars are a rare breed. Rarer still are custom-bodied supercars based off of already existing supercars. Take this racy coupe spotted on 49th street for example. While difficult to recognize based on the styling alone, unless your an automotive super freak, the drivetrain, chassis and other major structural components are shared with one of Detroit’s greats. So go ahead, name that obscure supercar…

Thanks for the spot Mike.

Mystery Truck: RT80 – Salt Lake City, Utah

February 25th, 2012 by Stu

Spotted this unknown vintage military tractor trailer on I-80 outside of Salt Lake. Other than being a pretty cool rig, it’s also interesting to note how much the breed of truck has grown over the years.

Anyone know the make and model? There’s a super cool Man on the Move t-shirt with your name on it if you can name that rig.

Mystery Car: Beat Up Classic MB 4×4 – Naxos, Greece

September 12th, 2011 by Stu

A member of the Man on the Move tribe spotted this interesting old mystery Benz while honeymooning in Naxos, Greece. A far cry from the plush luxury sleds coming out of Stuttgart today, the deteriorated little ute has certainly seen better days. Still, the rust and faded paint only add to the old world charm. It kinda looks like a vintage mail truck. Love the exposed horn, side exiting exhaust and what appears to be an early rendition of a clamp on hard top.

Tell us what year/model it is and you get an awesome Man on the Move T-Shirt to show off proudly to friends, family and colleagues.

This turquoise gem from yesteryear was snapped inside Fred Kanter’s massive car palace in Boonton, NJ. People have said that our last few mystery car posts were a bit too easy. So today we’ll try something more obscure on for size. And, to make things even more difficult, I am only showing you pieces of the car (rear shot after the jump). Let’s see what you got…weigh in below for your chance at a free, pre-shrunk Man on the Move T-Shirt.

Mystery Ride – Lincoln Boulevard, Venice, CA

February 17th, 2010 by Mike

It’s not often we find ourselves unable to identify a vehicle. And as much as it hurts our car guy pride to admit it, we have no flippin clue what this cute little coupe is. The fussy styling cues, particularly the front and rear lights, feel pre WWII Japanese. Also notice where the hinges are positioned in the rear – that could mean there is a rumble seat below. The roof also appears to be of the clamp-on variety. Care to take a stab at the make and model? Test your car spotting skills after the jump…

Guess that ride 1

We snapped this unidentified boat (uhm vehicle) on the Upper East Side and all we can tell you is that it is large, vintage and most likely hails from these United States. Think you have the chops to name the make and model?
