A Raging Bull in Paris – Place du Trocadéro, Paris

October 8th, 2012 by Stu

This Aventador LP700-4 [named for its mid-engine’s longitudinal placement in front of the rear axle, 700 horsepower and 4-wheel drive] sighting in Paris makes me think of the Zoo. Yes, the Zoo. The Lamborghini, a caged animal, bound by congested, narrow streets and laughably low speed limits. So utterly beautiful to look at but terribly dangerous to approach at the same time. Looking from afar, people stare with wide-eyes and slack-jaws, floored by the vehicle’s dramatic presence and ferocious nature. At the end of the day, it’s almost tragic to keep this bull from raging.

Chew on that.

A Nice Italian Couple: NW Lovejoy & 13th – Portland, OR

September 19th, 2012 by Emir

It always breaks my heart to see red hot sports cars all by their lonesome. It’s kind of like a model with no one to hang out with on date night. These two make a menacing couple don’t you think? Perhaps they met through an online dating service for exotic Italians.

Lambo LP550-2 Spyder Photo Shoot: Brookhaven Airport – Shirley, NY

September 7th, 2012 by Anthony

Bask in the glory of Lamborghini’s latest Gallardo, the LP550-2 Spyder and you’re immediately reminded why insurance companies exist. The topless bull, an all new model for 2012, takes a different spin [literrally] on an old theme by providing mid engine exotic shoppers with a RWD option alongside the AWD set up featured since model introduction [2003/2004]. The offering lowers the cost of entry a bit and transforms the drive character from one of 4-wheeled super sled to 2-wheeled sling shot. Check out Stu’s full review in WIRED and join us after the jump for the full crop of photos from our aeronautical-themed shoot. We figured planes and hangers were appropriate surroundings for something that flies like this Lambo does.

Car Spotting the Upper Crust – Cannes, France

July 10th, 2012 by Stu

Loyal Man on the Move reader Seth Berk spotted this fabulous cast of exotic characters during a recent trip to Cannes. Between the posh  Carlton Hotel and JW Marriott, he rounded up the better part of $4 million bucks worth of precious sheet metal for us to drool over.  And that doesn’t even include the mega bucks spent on customized liquid metal paint jobs and orange luminescent finishes.

Lambo Aventador in menacing black on black on black…$387K

Luminescent orange Ferrari FF…$295K

Liquid metal blue Bugatti Veyron 16.4…$1.8M

Lambo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante…$248K

Aston Martin One-77…$1M+

As they say…if you’re gonna get wet, might as well go swimming.

Sneak Peak: Lambo LP550-2 Spyder Shoot – Brookhaven Airport, NY

July 9th, 2012 by Stu

Here’s a teaser from our Independence Day shoot with, of all cars, Lamborghini’s decidedly unpatriotic 2012 LP550-2 Spyder. Man on the Move correspondent and pro snapper Anthony Barbato made good use of the sinful Italian sheet metal and wicked aeronautical back drop

More to come…

Lamborghini Gallardo – Town of Bad Staffelstein, Bavaria

March 17th, 2010 by Stu

German tuning house CDC International is serious about adding flair to already wild exotics like the Audi R8, Bentley Continental GT and Lamborghini Gallardo. Wheels, body kits, high performance exhausts, engine upgrades…they do it all. Their latest and greatest product draws inspiration from Lamborghini’s Reventón, the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show stunner that featured a fighter jet-inspired carbon fiber body atop a “base” Murcielago LP640. The production run was limited to just 20 examples costing a cool $1.5mm each and the batch sold out before show models could even unveil the damn thing. For those of you who were too poor or too slow to grab one, CDC has designed this Reventon-look body kit (front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts, and diffuser) for the Murcielago’s baby bro, the Gallardo. They appropriately refer to it as “a little Reventón”. Interested? The package will run you a cool $25K. Nothing little about that. CDC was good enough to photograph the final product for us, seen here posed against a randomly colorful recycling depot in the Town of Bad Staffelstein.

Thanks Mike!

Lamborghini LM002 – Stratton Mountain Resort: Stratton, VT

January 26th, 2010 by Stu

I’m hanging a Louie out of the Stratton Mountain parking lot and nearly drove into a tree at the sight of this Lamborghini tank (uhm SUV). But the ultra rare (301 built between 1986 and 1993) LM002 does more than scare motorists. Just like the Mercedes G Wagon and Hummer H1, the machismo 4×4 was constructed with military applications in mind. And just the Mercedes G Wagon and Hummer H1, Americans took a liking to versions equipped with leather seats and modern creature comforts. We followed the Italian off-roader for a while and the V12, shared with the Countach, positively howled the entire way. Leave it to a New Yorker to pack one of these full of people and head to the ski slope. I hope everyone wiped their feet.

Lamborghini Murcielago – East 59th Street, NYC

November 23rd, 2009 by Stu

Lamborghini Murcielago Monday morning signals a return to the daily grind. For some people, that means climbing aboard the city-bound train from the suburbs. Others ride the bus or subway. But this commuter prefers the smell of hand stitched hides and the scream of a 571 HP V12 on his way into the office. Can you blame him?

Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder – West 26th Street, NYC

August 21st, 2009 by Ian

Lambo 1

Lamborghini’s best-selling Gallardo has been a bit of headline whore lately and not all of them good. Recent news surrounding the “entry level” exotic from Sant’Agata Bolognese range from a lemon law refund check, to a special RWD commemorative edition, to a new Gallardo-only racing series, and even a hybrid electric variant coming in 2015. Seeing this stunning white Spyder on 26th street reminds us what all the fuss is about.
