Jim Bauer is no stranger to Q&A, but his interviews are usually about a crazy BMX gap, or maybe his custom designed T shirts, or even his artistic approach to wedding planning . When it comes to cars, I like Jim’s perspective because he’s not a typical “car guy”. He’s the guy with a million other talents who also happens to have great taste in cars. Like the rest of Jim’s endeavors, his 1981 Porsche 911 SC has achieved what many of us might call perfection.

It’s funny how Minis can make everyday vehicles around them look a bit silly. Even though it appears the car is standing still, we were actually traveling next to it at 75 mph. This super clean pre-BMW Mini is modified just enough to affirm you’re seeing something special – but your attention isn’t drawn to any one mod.

So this is what they looked like when they actually rolled out of Springfield. This ’39 Injin is pure class, through and through. And no, that’s not some old rich guy riding it because his mechanic told him to get it out of the garage once a year, that’s a 24 year-old with perhaps more style than horsepower, whose other car is… well… this. But hey, this thing is purely for thundering around town looking for trouble and not dragging off greens with the rest of the Ruff Riders.
