Porsche 911 Carrera 4S & Camaro Z/28- West 25th Street, NYC

August 6th, 2009 by Ian

Import vs. Domestic 1

They say life is full of tough choices but deciding between these babies every morning is a burden we wouldn’t mind shouldering. On the one hand, you have a German-engineered sun devil whose advanced AWD and traction management system (borrowed from 911 Turbo) bites down on pavement like a Great White to an unsuspecting surfer.

Corvette Z06 – 7th Avenue, NYC

July 21st, 2009 by Ian

Corvette Z06 1

Pictured here on 7th Avenue, this no-nonsense American exotic holds its own against Europe’s finest for considerably less coin. In fact, the only cars on the market to offer equal or better performance for the dollar are GM sister vehicles like Camaro SS and Cadillac CTS-V.

Monte Carlo SS – Financial District, NYC

monte-carlo-1

Our pal and fellow blogger Michael Williams knew this cherry Monte Carlo SS was ManOnTheMove material when he spotted it down in the Battery Garage. Although not quite old enough for vintage or historic plates, the 1980s design aesthetic continues to appreciate in cool.

1995 Dodge Viper RT/10 – East 23rd Street, NYC

June 24th, 2009 by Stu

95-viper-rt-10-e23rd-streetIt’s always a treat to see one of the 25,000 or so Vipers produced since introduction in 1992. And given the livery vehicle choices seen here, we would definitely hail down the “Race Yellow” snake charm owned and operated by Long Island resident Alan Stewart.

cadillac-cts-v-gansevoort-stFrom slaughterhouse heaven (1900) to hookers and narcotics (1980s) to upscale nightlife and shopping (now), the area also know as the Gansevoort Market knows how to change faces. Enter Cadillac, who has followed more than a few paradigm shifts since losing consideration as the ultimate status symbol in our country.

Dodge Chargers – Lafayette Street, NYC

June 12th, 2009 by Ian

1966-dodge-charger-383We spotted not one but two Dodge Chargers on Lafayette street, parked outside of the Meineke Car Care center. Apparently the grease monkeys over there also deal in rare and desirable classics – so you can repair a muffler and buy a new vintage car all in the same visit.

Chevy SSR – West 39th Street, NYC

June 11th, 2009 by Stu

chevy-ssrWe spotted this Slingshot Yellow Chevy SSR laying low in a 39th street parking garage. Perhaps the owner is embarrassed that he/she purchased one of Time Magazine’s 50 worst cars of all time?

Ford GT – Avenue of Americas, NYC

June 9th, 2009 by Ian

ford-gtNeck snapping looks aside, exotic vehicle sightings are ultimately special for their infrequency. Ford only made about 4,000 of these thoroughly exotic GT supercars between 2003-2006 so it’s not everyday that we spot one parked on Ave of the Americas.
