Various Vintage Nissans – Nissan HQ: Franklin, TN

The auto industry is all about pride. Pride for your products, pride for your workforce and pride for the brand’s storied past. Nissan, like many of today’s automakers, proudly displays its products, old and new, on the lobby floor of national HQ. The best part…these museum quality pieces are there to greet employees every morning on their way into work. This time around, the good folks at Nissan chose to display a couple of luscious Datsuns. These babies look clean enough to eat off of.

Pagani Huayra – Tiburon, California

Pagani Huayra - Tiburon, California

One of our spotters nabbed this Italian she devil on a recent stroll around the neighborhood. Despite the absurdly low production volume, this is not our first Huayra sighting. The last one of these speedy unicorns was also spotted in a wealthy California zip code though. Wealthy indeed…these babies are trading hands for the better part of $2M. I love the sense of drama the single stall garage set-up creates around this absolute beast of a super car. Dare we guess what else this lucky owner has tucked away in and around the property? Maybe next time we’ll get a glimpse.

Thanks Tony!

Two-Wheeled Window Displays – Madison Ave, NYC

2-Wheeled Window Displays - Madison Ave, NYC

Strolling Madison Avenue on a recent Saturday morning, I could not help but notice that more than one high end window was adorned with luscious two-wheeled jewelry intended to set the mood this season’s clothing collections. Two brands, Belstaff and Ralph Lauren, featured new or vintage motorcycles draped in high end product. Belstaff, an edgy British clothier that charges the better part of a grand for their leather jackets, featured a menacing monstrosity of a bespoke bobber complete with Brembo stoppers, V-twin power and one seriously raunchy exhaust. The gold colored drive chain completed the elemental design effect. Ralph Lauren, on the other hand, took an iconic style direction with an astoundingly beautiful vintage BMW (courtesy of Cooper Classics) draped in couture hand bags.

All in all, I love the trend.

Ferrari F12 TRS Roadster – Maranello, Italy

June 21st, 2014 by Stu

Ferrari F12 TRS - Maranello, Italy

Editors Note 6.24.14: This one-off Ferrari, contrary to rumors and speculation, does not feature KERS hybrid assist. The same 6.3L V12 featured in the F12 lies under hood. I guess the owner will have to make due.

You know you’ve made it when your checking account touts enough zeros to afford a one-off Ferrari built just for you by the magicians from Maranello. Say hello to the F12 FRS Roadster, a $4.2M creation built for one seriously deep pocketed enthusiast. The TRS is based on the front engine F12 Berlinetta flagship and features unique design and engineering features like KERS hybrid assist, an open top design, and coach built customizations to the hood and rear deck lid. I’m not in love with the ZR-1-esq porthole but the utterly classy cowled rear deck more than makes up for it. So does the combined 730 horsepower netted by the hybrid set up. The vehicle was spotted by one of our Man on the Move insiders who was lucky enough to witness the delivery of this baby to its excited new owner.

Rat Stang – Santa Monica, Ca

Rat Stang - Santa Monica, Ca

This pony car has seen better days but don’t be fooled by the rusted, weathered patina and mismatched body panels. This Detroit survivor is on the road to recovery. Evidence the owner is restoring his ride [one day at a time] lies in the partially primed body and bodacious pipes slung off the side. I hope to run into this Mustang again one day to find its luster fully restored. Tattered body aside, I kind of dig it.

Pontiac LeMans – Santa Monica, Ca

Ford Torino GT - Santa Monica, Ca

6/13/14 Editors Note: This car was originally referred to as a Ford Torino GT. It most certainly is not a Torino, as you can see. It’s a ’75 LeMans, as pointed out by one of our gear head Twitter followers.

DMC Delorean – Lexington Avenue, NYC

AMC Delorean - Lexington Avenue, NYC

I am a constant observer of how everyday people react to four-wheeled greatness parked on the street. In the case of this aluminum-skinned, fabulously overt tribute to 1980s excess, it’s fair to say that curb appeal remains fully intact. In fact, Upper West Side citizens strolling past this precocious coupe were barely able to keep from pointing, clicking pics and going all slack-jawed with general wonder. Maybe it’s the Back to the Future thing or perhaps it’s the wildly advanced vehicle design that manages to look futuristic and experimental even to this day. One thing is for sure…this baby is still an automotive wild child. And the example spotted here is so close to perfect in its meticulous restoration that it might even be better than new.
