Since founding Man on the Move in 2007, we have spotted our fair share of rides in Manhattan. Chrome Lambos, homemade rat rods and everything in-between. I guess there’s a first time for everything though because I have never run into a Medium Tactical Vehicle in Murray Hill before. And when I say Medium Tactical Vehicle, that’s exactly what I mean (wanna see the brochure). Unsure of exactly what I was looking at upon first sight, I did some body inspection and found an Oshkosh logo painted over in camoflogue. Let’s just say these guys don’t make kids overalls. Oshkosh Defense manufacturers some utterly heavy duty, all-conquering rigs capable of traversing any harsh environment earth (or war) is capable of mustering.
Here are a couple of fun facts:
- 15 Ton payload (on-road) and 7 tons (off road)
- Capable of traversing a 60% gradient and 30% side slope
- Can ford up to four feet of water (thats taller than many cars)
- Available in 4×4 or 6×6

I excitedly spotted BMW’s new i3 the other day. A milestone for the brand, it represents the first ever zero emissions, mass-produced BMW. I didn’t think I was going to like it based on the goofy pictures I had seen up until this point, but it’s actually distinguishing in the sheet metal. The design, while certainly not elegant, does come off substantial and upscale in its look and feel. I suppose that makes sense considering the blue and white roundel on the hood. Looking forward to driving it one of these days to see if it lives up to the sporty Ultimate Driving Machine mantra.

We have acquired another, more telling angle of the mysterious, homemade, solar powered EV currently humming around Manhattan [emissions free of course]. It definitely appears to be of the vintage British variety, either originating as an MG or Caterham, or both.
Somebody flag this owner down and ask questions next time he’s spotted!!!! We must know more about this amazing piece of custom engineering.
