The trend these days when it comes to vehicle naming taxonomy is definitely an alpha numeric affair. Think about it…BMW X5, Lincoln MKS, Mercedes C350, Acura TL…the list goes on. Sure, there are still the Corvettes, Civics and Mustangs of the world but, more and more, badges are becoming choc full of pseudo-futuristic number-letter combos that likely hold more significance to the manufacturers than they do consumers. Perhaps one of the cooler nameplates to ever grace the road came from Studebaker with their Champion (seen here as a fourth generation coupe). To name a vehicle so affirmatively imparts a charming sense of confidence in the mind of and owner. My car is the best!

This original example spotted in one of the corporate Lexus parking lots of all places has developed an awesome patina sitting under the california sun all these years. It’s a pink meets orange hue that could be described as Rat Rod Grapefruit.
