Ducati Diavel – Fifth Ave @ 33rd Street, NYC

Ducati Diavel - Fifth Ave @ 33rd Street, NYC

Ducati hasn’t done many cruisers. The now Audi-controlled motorcycle brand is better known for its race-bred sport bikes and iconic Trellis-framed Monsters. Things change though. Seen here is the Diavel, the brand’s new power cruiser from another mother. The bike has an imposing presence on the street. Hell, it’s named after the devil. And so I’m told by a dealer friend of mine, this baby is stealing V-Rod customers from Harley. That’s attitude.

Kaipan 16 – Czech Republic

Kaipan 14 - Czech Republic

Check out this rare, hand-built Czech roadster that our pal Chris at Automoblog had the chance to play around with during a recent trip to the Czech Republic. The company is Kaipan, a small, 8-person outfit that builds about 40 sports cars per year in a little village called Smržovka. Previous models were underpinned by Lotus 7 components while this newer 16 model that debuted in December 2011 at the Brno Motor Show is instead based on the Skoda Fabia supermini. Not the prettiest car in the world but it looks like good fun considering the relative light weight and extreme proportions.

Groundscore Fabworks Ducati @ NW 18th & Kearney, Portland, OR

The problem with having a fast, powerful and successful big brother is that he casts a very large shadow (Ralph and Michael Schumacher come to mind). Ducati 748 had the same problem with its famous 916 Superbike brother. In spite of handsome looks and great components the bike never lived up to expectations and wasn’t a good match for Japanese 600 in line fours. Ducati tried with S and R models and marginally improved the bike but that was still not enough. So here we are now, nearly ten years after the production ended and you’ve got a spare Ducati 748S.

Mini Cooper Stretch Limousine - East 58th Street, NYC

Ever see a Mini cooper with 3 axles? Now you have. And, as it turns out, the only thing more ridiculous than a stretch limo Mini Cooper is a pink stretch limo Mini Cooper. Word on the street is that this creation from SilverStar Limo can haul half a dozen 8-year old, Hello Kitty-loving girls to 60MPH in no time flat. It even has a disco floor inside. Best part, 10% of the revenue generated from this XL Mini is said to be donated to Breast Cancer Organizations.
