Fiat 600 – 1st Avenue, NYC

December 20th, 2012 by Aaron

The flawless 600 seen here, pronounced say-chento, is the handsome city car Fiat sold a million of (literally) in the short six years following its launch in 1955. Unlike its better known little brother that launched 2 years later in ’57, the 600 was water cooled and represented the first Fiat to feature a rear engine layout. All in, Fiat pumped out more than 2.5 million of these handsome little guys [measured just over 10 feet in length] from its Turin plant through the vehicle’s lifecycle ['55- '69]. Love the 2-tone red and cream upholstery and rear bench seating configuration.
