Shelby GT500CR: Plakos Scrap Processing – Brooklyn, NY

May 30th, 2012 by Stu

Following up on our teaser post from last week, here are the finished crop of GT500CR images from the go-fast mind of Anthony Barbato. As I’m sure you will agree, the car [and the girl] are damn sexy.

What a fitting tribute to the late, great Carroll Shelby.

MB 300 GD – NW Irving & 14th, Portland [OR]

May 25th, 2012 by Emir

This is the real thing. Not one of those fancy pants G550 or AMG monstrosities. A real German Gelaendewagen, with plaid cloth seats, manual transmission, military roots and a spartan-interior devoid of burl wood adornments or sissy hand massaged cow hides. It’s more Land Rover than Mercedes, a bit beat-up, a little rusty but still rolling strong. This baby appears to have a bunch off-road tours under its beltline judging by the bad ass winch up front and tow hooks in the rear. I remember reading a test of one of these Puchs (that’s how they were sold in Eastern Europe) and one of the requirements the Bundeswehr put before MB was a 20-year expected life span of each unit in military service.

Awesome!

Mercedes CLS63 AMG – Bank Street, NYC

May 22nd, 2012 by Aaron

More matte madness, this time in grey on the original 4-door coupe. Believe it or not, this is a factory finish Mercedes offers on most of their line-up. If you like how the slick finish looks on this AMG bruiser, you will love how it looks on the flagship SLS AMG.

SAAB 96 – SE 15th And Umatilla, Portland, OR

May 18th, 2012 by Emir

Remember when Saabs were cool? When they were actually manufactured by a company that made airplanes and fighter jets, and not just an ad saying so. Say hello to the 96, a significant little car in the company’s quirky history if for nothing else than the fact that it was the first model officially imported to the UK.

More pics after the jump. Have a great weekend!

Behind The Scenes – Mustang GT500CR: Red Hook, Brooklyn

May 9th, 2012 by Stu

Classic Recreations, a Shelby-licensed restomod builder out of Oklahoma, was kind enough to loan us one of their righteous playthings for the week. Our heads immediately went to pretty women, fast driving and industrial backdrops in the brooklyn area.

Here are some teaser images to chew on while my ace photographer Anthony Barbato does his magic in post production

Enjoy!

Yamaha Sportster Clone – East 64th Street, NYC

May 3rd, 2012 by Stu

What appears to be a Harley Sportster at first glance reveals what’s actually a highly customized, ridiculously imaginative Yamaha designed to mimic the iconic American classic. Love the minimalist springer seat, Sportster-style tank and rubber sans fenders. Someone put a silly amount of time into making this baby into an utterly cool, one-of-a-kind Japanese-American mash up.

Well done!
