Some Inspiration: Secret To My Success

November 2nd, 2010 by Stu

Our buddy David over at BNQT.com sent this playlist to help prime the pump and get your Music on The Move creative juices flowing – check it out!

1. Nightwish – Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean

Nightwish is Finnish opera rock power metal with a chick lead singer. Obviously Devil and the deep dark Ocean is one of the songs that medieval knights of Europe listened to while riding into battle on horseback. As a capable knight of the here and now, I also choose Nightwish to get me psyched while commuting to battle, er, a day of work in my cubicle.

2. Boys Don’t Cry – The Cure

While stuck in traffic in the rain after being dumped by my latest girlfriend, I sometimes I need to remind myself that boys don’t cry. So I listen to this song and it puts me back on track.

3. Deadmau5 – Hi Friend! (feat. Mc Flipside)

Deadmau5 is so hot right now. He’s got something like 500 million followers on twitterbook. He’s on the verge of played out, but I don’t even care. Let those little dance club trolls convulse in slow motion to his dubstep tracks. I listen to Hi Friend! (which IS NOT a dubstep track) on the way to the airport before I get in my plane and fly upside down for an hour. Geez, I sound like a pompous schmuck, maybe that’s why my girlfriend dumped me.

4. Daft Punk  – Alive

Okay so I’m cheating a little bit… this is an entire album. But, it was on infinite loop at max volume for about three months after I purchased my 335i and was drag racing myself from stoplight to stoplight on PCH.

5. Yanni – The Storm

Laugh all you want, this s**t is epic. Like me. The Storm is one movement from Vivaldi’s four seasons, techno-charged by Yanni, that dude with a mustache and a mullet, who probably hooks up with more chicks than anyone who visits this website. Inspirational to say the least.
