Conquest Knight XV – The Ansonia: 2109 Broadway, NYC

April 1st, 2010 by Stu

CORRECTION: Per Seth Feller, VP of Communications at Conquest Vehicles (see his comment below), the Hummer-killer you see above is not a Knight XV but rather a Ghurka military vehicle. In our defense, Seth did mention that the Knight XV was inspired by the Ghurka. I didn’t realize the luxury assault vehicle segment was so competitive.

One of our loyal readers caught this over-the-top urban assault vehicle while taking the shortcut behind the Ansonia building between 73rd & 74th. You’re looking at the Conquest Knight XV, a 14,000 pound, $489,000, 20-foot long armored vehicle used by the rich & famous to scuttle about town. It’s based on a Ford F-550 Super Duty. Apparently Marc Ecko is fearful of a machine gun assault on the Upper West Side. Hey, you can’t be too careful right? Here is the most entertaining line of marketing copy I could find on the website…

“Conquest Vehicle Inc’s flagship vehicle, the KNIGHT XV defines the future of the ultra-luxurious, handcrafted fully armoured SUV. This one-of-a-kind, V10, 6.8-litre, Bio-fuel powered SUV was inspired by military vehicle designs and features security appointments that are unrivaled in today’s SUV marketplace. Are you ready to be Knighted?”

Thanks Brian!

  • Wow … What happened to the good old armor plated Brabuses an Bimmers? A bit too much don’t you think? At least they don’t offer the foreskin of a whale as an option in it’s leather interior (unlike their Russian counterparts at Dartz tried,)).

  • If that doesn’t say insecure, I don’t know what does. Looks like daddy wasn’t there to change his underwear

  • Hi Brian — I am the VP, Communications for Conquest Vehicles, the company that produces the KNIGHT XV. I wanted to offer a correction as the image you have posted is not a KNIGHT XV, but rather the Ghurka military vehicle (produced by a company called Armet Vehicles). Although inspired by the Ghurka, the KNIGHT XV is a completely different vehicle and produced by a completely different company. If you could kindly amend your information, it would be appreciated.
