The VW Bus is the automotive workhorse that helped post war Europe get back on its feet. It’s also perhaps the most nicknamed auto on the planet, affectionately known by thousands of pet names like magic bus, Mircobus, hippie-mobile, Camper, Eurovan, Caravelle, Samba, Multivan, and Bully. The Beetle mechanicals and extremely versitile platform provided for an endless number of body configurations and variants. The Kombi, for instance, had side windows and removeable seats so tradespeople could transport people as well as goods. We spotted this 1960′s pick up variant in Alphabet City – it’s good for peace, love and trips to Home Depot.

Sweet buggy… love the color.
Nice catch.
Funny, that’s my truck! You guys have a great site. Yes, the vehicle is great for home depot runs, or lowes. I recently helped my sister move to the hamptons and I blew the engine. The new one is on it’s way, all 40 Horses!
My daughter blew the engine in my truck. My isn’t pretty at all, some would say it’s “ugly”. I put about 6k into it just to get it road worthy and new upholstery with the original engine. She blew it in 2 days, now it is up to me to repair. I could really use some help. Can you help me with some sites and places to order parts.
I am in Colorado.

You can try wolfsburg west, van cafe, midamerica motorworks for parts. You can also try the samba.com for parts. My mechanic likes van cafe. 2 days. Poor thing. She must’ve felt bad about that.
oh, sorry…the headliner was purchased from wolfsburg west i believe. but it is the one that was on there when i bought the vehicle. as such, like everything else, i will have to replace it as it is in sorry shape.
thanks for all the great input Tom – you have one sweet ride there – I really dig the color combo!!!!
Co to spedycja? sprawdz.
I never found myself attracted to the design of the VW bus like so many others. For me it always seemed unimposing and toy-like. Not that I need my cars intimidating, I’d just rather they didn’t look like something Barbie would love to take home and paint pink.
