Eleanor’s younger bro was spotted in Easthampton at the Bonac Cruisers Car Show over Memorial Day weekend. The 1968 model seen here is significant and not only for its lovingly hand restored exterior. Ford and Shelby stopped co-branding muscle cars in 1969, so the the 1968 model represents the last authentic example of Ford’s partnership with the snake man himself, Carroll Shelby. Production locations also changed in 69′ from Shelby’s shop in California to A.O. Smith Company in Michigan. We are thankful that Ford added a modern chapter to this iconic partnership with a modern day line-up of Mustang-based animals (GT500, GT500KR, etc).
